Bio
Richard Zhang is a partner in the Internet/Consumer team and the Head of Greater China, leading Apax operations in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Southeast Asia. He joined Apax in 2008. Richard's significant Apax deal experience includes: Huayue Education, SoYoung International Inc., Guotai Junan Securities, SouFun, Tommy China and Huarong.
Prior to joining Apax, Richard was a director (senior partner) of McKinsey & Company. He had over 15 years of management consulting experience in the US and China. Being the most senior Chinese Partner, Richard played a leading role in building McKinsey's China practice into pre-eminence.
Richard is a well-known figure in the Chinese management scene. He has been actively introducing advanced international management practices to China.
Richard has a Masters in Finance from Northwestern University's J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management and a BS and a BA from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
